Celestial by Christine - Get Nourished Cuticle Balm

Hey lovelies!

As a polish addict I've also become a hoarder of all kinds of moisturising products. Hand creams, moisturising scrubs, cuticle balms, cuticle oils, mani bombs - you name it, I've tried it!

With all of that you'd think by now I have my hand care routine down to a fine art, but while I have found my holy grail moisturiser and decided mani bombs and cuticle oils are not for me, I was yet to find the perfect cuticle balm (though a few have come close).

But I've found it, and I am over the moon! Introducing Get Nourished from Celestial by Christine.

Now before I get so carried away you start thinking I'm getting kickbacks (I'm not - just this one sample product), I will tell you that I am usually a tub or nothing girl, and I was a touch disappointed when I saw the packaging. I don't care for lip balm style packaging, because a) I get it confused with lip balm too easily, and b) I hate how the product can build up around the edge of the lid when you're as clumsy/careless as me. I was genuinely worried that I wouldn't be able to deal.

But I don't. even. care. Get Nourished works. It could come wrapped in a stinky gym sock and I'd still go running back every time. Really.

I'm not here to be hyperbolic without photographic proof, and for that I need to show you what I started with - naked nails ahead!

I have pretty chronic dry skin, and am prone to frequent hangnails/buildups of dry skin in my side walls. I try to keep everything in check with frequent moisture, but my hands see a lot of acetone and I work 5 days a week in an office - air conditioning is one hell of a drying mf.

Here are my nails immediately after removing polish. The skin around my nails is very dry - my side walls in particular are really starting to feel the cooler weather. On some nails you can see my proximal folds are quite dry too. These puppies need some TLC!

Here's what happens after using my beloved Hand Chemistry moisturiser. My hands have happily soaked up all that goodness but my problem areas are still dry. This was even taken after giving the moisturiser a really good massage into my nails - it hasn't quite cut it.

Here is what I'm looking like after 2 solid days of Get Nourished. My proximal folds are looking healthy and happy already. My side walls are hugely improved - I feel like the balm has really penetrated my skin well and is healing the dryness without leaving a layer of shine on top. I've got no signs of developing hangnails, and the damaged spots from old hangnails are smoothing out.

As well as being completely obsessed with how effective the product is I love that it looks and feels like nothing after mere minutes. I took the photo above straight after massaging in the balm and it hasn't left any shine or grease on my hands and nails, which means no leaving greasy marks on my belongings. No greasy marks on my belongings also means I'm much more likely to keep using this.

The texture is similar to balms like Lush Lemony Flutter or Burts Bees Cuticle Balm - there's a very slight grit that melts away with the warmth of your skin. It's firm enough to hold shape in the tube but soft enough to dab a little on your nails without much pressure. It's super easy to massage in and won't leave your hands feeling like they've been dipped in butter or smelling like the laundry aisle.

Oh yeah - the scents! I opted for Fusion - a delicious blend of peppermint, spearmint, juicy mango, papaya, and strawberries, with a wonderful base note of freshly brewed white tea leaves. It's fruity and fresh but not overly sweet. The scent is very delicate once it has been massaged in which I appreciate - I don't enjoy strong scents on my hands.

Get Nourished will be available in 3 additional scents, plus an unscented option. It is 100% vegan and cruelty free and contains jojoba, apricot and coconut oils, plus organic calendula and vitamin E.

At just $4 each you absolutely need to treat yourself to one of these little tubes of magic. I've already got plans to have one in every room of the house plus my car and office! Make sure to head to Celestial Cosmetics tomorrow (May 17) to snatch one for yourself!
