Good Morning Bitches - Drag Race S9 Nail Art

Good morning bitches!

Is anyone else struggling to keep up with the wild swings between total claws out drama and heartwrenching tragic tales this season?

It's so over the top - which, OK, I know I'm watching a reality show about drag queens, but damn - calm your boobsforqueens dot com (*wink*) tits please producers. It's exhausting. Valentina needs to teach them some focus.

Workroom weirdness aside, we finally got an actual entertaining maxi challenge! There were some spectacular failures from the Not On Today team - I'm looking at you Trinity and Peppermint. Eureka and Nina saved it from being a total mess with their edible diy drag segment, and Charlie and Cynthia would have been downright forgettable had they not been so cringeworthy.

Good Morning Bitches was owned by Sasha Velour and Shea Coulee with their repressed 80's lesbian power couple exploding with awkward sexual tension. This is a ship I am absolutely going to board.

Because there was only a 12 second runway this week (which was disappointing anyway after my mishearing it as 'naughty 90's') I took my inspiration from the challenge instead!

Shea Coulee and Sasha Velour - Good Morning Bitches

The highlight of the season so far. I was SCREAMING watching this, the perfect balance of funny, sexy and gross (raw broccoli and chocolate?).

Sasha was one of my pre-season faves, and Shea creeps further up my list every episode. I hope they both go all the way because this week they showed us the whole shebang of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent.

What I used:

  • Pretty Serious - Honey Puff
  • Powder Perfect - Bermuda*
  • Pretty Serious - Absence
  • Hit the Bottle - Let's Go To The Peach
  • Powder Perfect - 1980's Stamping Plate

Charlie Hides and Cynthia Lee Fontaine - Not on Today

What happened here? Charlie was a charisma black hole that spent the whole segment fumbling lines and staring at her cards, save for the moments she glared at Cynthia (the non-native English speaker) for getting her lines wrong.

Cynthia usually grates my last nerve but I actually found her weird humour worked for me here - dare I say I was even... charmed... by it?

What I used:

  • Celestial Cosmetics - Pretty*
  • OPI - Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?
  • Emily de Molly - Picasso in my Cocktail
  • OPI - I Brake for Manicures
  • China Glaza - Street Chic
  • Powder Perfect - Mattificent matte top coat*

Nina BoNina Brown and Eureka O'Hara - Not on Today

Eureka seemed super at home in this role, and Nina had me cackling. This could have been super gross and awkward but they both embraced the cheap tackiness of morning TV, and Eureka really embraced the ingredients.

The double leopard print though? So awful and so perfect!

What I used:

  • Celestial Cosmetics - Your Approval is Not Needed
  • OPI - Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh
  • China Glaze - Street Chic

We farewelled the trans-Atlantic dame, Charlie Hides this week after a disastrous lip sync. Trinity turned it out while Charlie stood still clapping and mumbling. I hadn't been really wowed by Charlie so far so it wasn't the saddest farewell, but I am disappointed we won't see her Joan Rivers Snatch Game!

But now I gotta run and watch Kardashian - The Musical! TOOT!
