Paint All The Nails Presents - Gilded

Hello lovelies!

It's time to join hands across the world with my awesome Paint All The Nails ladies as we make it ALL GOLD ERRYTHANG! This month we're getting gilded, and even though I'm more of a silver kinda girl (shh don't tell) I was actually really inspired by this prompt! Wanna see?

Fancy, huh?

The latest chrome craze had me thinking of pigment nail art which was all the rage several years ago, so rather than using polish to gild my nails, I used gold eye pigment!

I started with two coats of Powder Perfect Nottingham, a gorgeous dark navy with silver holo, and topped it with Lightning Lady* fast dry top coat. Once that was full dry I grabbed some yellow gold eye pigment (I used Marsk Rich List) and mixed it with some rubbing alcohol and applied it to my nails with a fan brush. You can do this step with dry pigment, but I find it easier to work with wet. I used a fan brush to get a slightly rough finish to mimic that faded ornate look that I always picture when I think of gilded items.

I sealed it with Lightning Lady fast dry top coat, then stamped this gorgeous delicate geometric design from the new Powder Perfect Art Deco 1^ stamping plate. I think the design matches the colours so perfectly!

Have you tried using eyeshadow pigments to create nail art before? It's super messy, but fun!

Don't forget to check out the rest of this month's gold from the ladies who linkup below!
