Best of Paint All The Nails

Hi lovelies!

Today's post is a slightly bittersweet one as it's the final nail art linkup with the wonderful group of bloggers I've been collaborating with for the past 18 months for the Paint All The Nails linkups! Many of the group have (or will soon have) moved on from blogging into new adventures so today it's time to say goodbye. For our last hurrah we're recreating our favourite nail art from a past linkup  - and it was truly a task trying to narrow it down to just one mani!

Christmas Gift Wrapping Nail Art

Hi lovelies!

I don't know about you, but I'm already totally overwhelmed with December this year. It's like the moment December 1st arrived my calendar filled up with events! Naturally for me, events equals nail art, and today I've got some simple gift wrapped nails to show you that I wore to my first work Xmas celebration last week.

Christmas striped nail art

Mid-week Quickie - Picture Polish Mossy

Hi lovelies!

I really wanted to share my swatch of this irresistible new shade from Picture Polish, because it's pure heaven in a bottle. It's from the latest round of blogger collaborations and I'm utterly obsessed!

Monochrome Outline Nail Art

Hi polished pals!

Do you ever get frustrated with tip wear or shrinkage before you're ready to change a gorgeous polish? I sure as heck do! I recently wore this gorgeous orchid crelly and by day two it was looking a little sad at the tips, but still glorious and glowing with those icy blue flakes.

Arcane Lacquer - Lambent Light

(you can pause here for ooh's and aah's)

I wasn't ready to give up on it immediately, so what to do? Nail art to the rescue!

Celestial Cosmetics - SantaMental Collection

Hi lovelies!

It's halfway through November, which means it's pretty much already Christmas! If this fills you with childlike joy then congratulations, you're in the right place today. Hell, even if this stone cold fact fills you with despair or has no influence on your emotions at all then I still think you're gonna enjoy Celestial Cosmetics' offering for Xmas 2016.

Paint All The Nails Presents - Gilded

Hello lovelies!

It's time to join hands across the world with my awesome Paint All The Nails ladies as we make it ALL GOLD ERRYTHANG! This month we're getting gilded, and even though I'm more of a silver kinda girl (shh don't tell) I was actually really inspired by this prompt! Wanna see?

First impressions - Powder Perfect Stamping Polish

Hi lovelies!

Today is one for the stamping addicts with my first impressions of the new black and white stamping polish from Powder Perfect. These have been released along with 3 other shades (gold, silver and orange) - all 5 free!

Powder Perfect - Halloween Duo

Yaasssss more Halloween polish!
I've been sitting on this Powder Perfect Halloween duo for what feels like an eternity and I'm so excited that I finally get to show them to you! Those of you lucky enough to have seen Powder Perfect at CosmoProf NA earlier this year would have had a sneak peek at these already, but it's finally time for them to be released into the world!

Celestial Cosmetics - Halloween Story

....
....
BOO!

Did I scare ya? Collect yourself off the floor and prepare yourself for the second Halloween trio from Celestial Cosmetics - this is Halloween Story!

Celestial Cosmetics - The Curse of Miss Ives

Hey pals!

It's fast approaching my favourite time of the year - Halloween! I'm eternally jealous of anyone lucky enough to live in a country that actually cares about Halloween, so I celebrate the only way I really can - a horror marathon and buying all the Halloween nail polish.

This year Celestial Cosmetics are releasing two separate trios for Halloween with unique inspirations. The Halloween Story trio (which I'll show you Friday) is more of a classic Halloween collection, and The Curse of Miss Ives trio, inspired by the character Vanessa Ives from the TV series Penny Dreadful.

Bettie Pain Polish - Ever After Collection

Hey pals!
Are you ready for a new collection from Bettie Pain Polish? I sure hope so, because I have the entire new Ever After collection to share with you today! It's a gorgeous range of colours inspired by the 1998 movie Ever After, with a range of finishes including shimmers, thermals and a heavenly holo and multichrome flake!

Weird Stamping with Aiyoohehe for The Lacquer Ring

Hi lovelies!

I've been swatching so much lately I've been ignoring my pile of awesome new stamping plates from Aiyoohehe, but I've managed to do one sneaky stamped mani in between all the gorgeous collections! I've paired it with this week's prompt for The Lacquer Ring which is burnt orange - let's check it out!

Grace-full Nail Polish - Once Upon A Dream

Hi lovelies!

Happy for two reasons today - it's the last day of winter here in Australia, and I have a sweet new collection from Grace-full Nail Polish to show you! Full of creamy, shimmery pastel holos it's perfect for the dreamers out there! Are you ready for cute overload?

Paint All The Nails Presents - Colour Block!

Hi lovelies!

Back again with my wonderful Paint All The Nails friends for a nail art challenge and I'm double excited because this month we voted on colour block! Even though it's not something I do often anymore, it's my favourite type of nail art and I was pumped to put together something awesome.

Powder Perfect Third Anniversary Duo

Hi lovelies!
This month is Powder Perfect's third anniversary - and we get the best presents! Jacinta has created two gorgeous limited edition shades, and in the tradition of her anniversary creations they're sparkly showstoppers that you're bound to love!

Celestial Cosmetics - Love Never Dies

Hi lovelies!

Today I’m treating you to an in depth look at the new collection from Celestial Cosmetics, Love Never Dies. A collection of six shades inspired by the gorgeous costumes of the 1992 film Bram Stoker’s Dracula.

Much like the film, this collection is a feast for the eyes with a range of rich and luscious shades sure to get your blood flowing. Let’s take a look!

Powder Perfect Hella Holo Customs Exclusives!

Hi lovelies!

Exciting times today! I've got three special shades I teased on Instagram recently that I've been aching to share since they landed on my doorstep - Powder Perfect's three gorgeous creations for Hella Holo Customs! Plenty of pictures after the jump :D

Wibbly Wobbly Tardis Blue Nail Art - The Lacquer Ring

Hi lovelies!

Happy weekend! Just a quick bit of nail art today to join up with The Lacquer Ring using the colour prompt of Tardis blue.

Powder Perfect - Limited Edition polishes

Hi lovelies!

Big exciting 3rd anniversary celebrations are happening at Powder Perfect today, and with it brings these two special shades to their Australian store, previously limited edition Color 4 Nails exclusives!

BEGUILING PRESENCE

A delicate muted rose holo with a hint of green flakes. The linear holo complements the dusky tone of the polish beautifully, and the green flakes lend an ethereal shimmer to the finish. I really struggled capturing the holo on camera (Cured by Chris has some lovely swatches here), but it truly lights up in the sunlight! I love the addition of the green flakes (again, very camera shy!) as it's a unique twist on this kind of feminine shade.

Powder Perfect - Promise duo for Harlow ONE

Hi lovelies!

I’m really excited to share these two special polishes from Powder Perfect with you today, created exclusively for Harlow & Co’s Harlow ONE series. The Harlow ONE project sees one brand produce a special duo each month with $1 CAD per bottle being donated to a cause of the brands choosing.

This month, sales of Powder Perfect’s Promise duo will be raising funds for Pencils of Promise – an international non-profit/for-purpose organisation that builds schools and supports education in South America, Africa and Asia. Read about some of the amazing work they do here – after you’ve checked out this fabulous duo of course!

Celestial Cosmetics - We Breathe Fire collection

Hi lovelies!

I've got six gorgeous new shades from Celestial Cosmetics to show you today, inspired by dragons! More specifically, inspired by Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle series - which I haven't read myself, but I always appreciate anything inspired by books and reading. Are you ready to see?

Purple Print Nail Art - #TheLacquerRing

Hi lovelies!

Today is my first night at home relaxing after at least a week of being sociable, which is totally against everything I believe in, but also the reason why I'm so late posting this/anything else! Ever feel like you spend more time thinking about things you need to do than actually doing them? Yeah, that's me at the moment.

But anyway, nail art! Purple!

Kaleidoscope Nail Art - ABC Challenge

Hey pals!

Another week has flown by so it's already time for the letter K in the Nail Polish Society ABC Challenge. I was totally stumped for this letter until I found my MoYou Kaleidoscope plates!

Jupiter Nail Art - ABC Challenge

Let’s get nerdy!

I’ve got a topical look today for you NASA fans (there’s a huge crossover, right?) with some Jupiter nail art for the ABC Challenge. Last week the big news in space was the Juno probe arriving at Jupiter, giving us the closest and best look at the mysterious gassy giant we’ve ever had. I took on a mission with equal complexity to create some of Jupiter’s familiar roughly banded surface – a water marble.

Colour(s!) of the Month from Grace-full Nail Polish

Hi lovelies!

Today I've got three of the four new COTM polishes from Grace-full Nail Polish to show you - if you're a fan of delicate sparkle and tricksy shimmers, I suggest you read on!

ABC Challenge - I is for i nail art

Happy Monday pals!

I've got something easy to kick off the week with this monochrome dot dash pattern for the Nail Polish Society ABC Challenge. I took my inspiration from the letter itself - the simple little letter i.

Guest Post at Very Emily!

Marbled gold nail art | ILNP 'I See You'

Hi lovelies!

I hope your week has started well! It's well and truly winter here - I'm wondering whether it's too early to start a countdown to spring? I'm trying to distract myself from the cold air with nail art and snuggles with my dog. There are worse ways to pass the time, right?!

Stamped marble nail art

Unconventional Pastel Houndstooth Nail Art - ABC Challenge

Hi lovelies!

We've done it, happy Friday pals! Today for the ABC challenge we're up to H, which is obviously for Houndstooth - queen of all textile patterns!

Simple Stamped Nail Art & Emily de Molly Brick is Dead

Hi lovelies!

Let's ease into the week with some simple stamping shall we? I want to feel confident and kickass on a Monday or there's a real risk I'll sob into my pillow until noon, and some bold polish with sharp stamping is definitely gonna get me there.

Today the beautiful bold blue Brick is Dead from Emily de Molly is taking care of me on the bold polish front - swooon!

Geometric Skittle Nail Art - ABC Challenge

Hi lovelies!

I've got two of my favourite things happening right now - brights and geometric! My wonderful friend Emily who blogs over at Nail Polish Society started running a weekly nail art linkup while I was away and I'm excited to join in from today!

As someone who is obsessed with doing things in order, the ABC Challenge is my dream. Every week we're doing nail art of our choice - the only rule is it has to start with that week's letter of the alphabet! I missed A-F, but I'm pretty excited to start at G because G is always for Geometric!!

Powder Perfect Bermuda Triangle Trio - Swatches and Review

Hi lovelies!

I'm back with a bang today with the gorgeous Bermuda Triangle trio from Powder Perfect! That's not all either - I got to try one of the new top coats from the new selection of nail care. Oh, and there's a treat at the end. For YOU!

Powder Perfect Bermuda Triangle Trio

These three beautiful bold brights are inspired by the infamous Bermuda Triangle (no, not my favourite childhood theme park ride), but, as Jacinta describes it, "the famed 'dead zone' between Bermuda, Florida & Puerto Rico where ships, submarines & aircraft mysteriously vanish without a trace! Some pilots report strange weather phenomena; others disappear without even issuing distress signals. While the cause of the disappearances remains unsolved, the Bermuda Triangle is firmly fixed on our paranormal radar."

Let's take a look!

Nothing helps me feel more put together while I'm away from home than some perfectly painted nails, and if you're anything like me, you might struggle to leave home for more than a few days without a bottle (or four) of polish in tow.

Bringing your own mini mani kit on holiday has plenty of benefits, from being able to change up your look as often as you like, to maintaining good nail and cuticle health while you're away from home.

I've got my personal mini mani kit packing down to a fine art and today I'm going to share my essentials with you! Let's get started!

Guest Post - Delicate feathers by Paulina of Paulina's Passions

Hi lovelies!

Today my guest is one of the few people who can make we really weak at the knees for floral nail art - none other than the wonderful Paulina from Paulina's Passions! I've been a fan of Paulina's for almost as long as I've been into nail art it's such a kick for me to have her guesting here! You're going to love what she's come up with for you!

Hi everyone! What a pleasure to be here. My name is Paulina and I am running the Paulina's Passion's blog. While Jae is enjoying her awesome vacation, I am taking over her blog to show you a stamping nail art I made. I am especially happy and honored to be doing this guest post, because Jae is one of the nicest ladies in the nail community. I love reading The Procrastinating Polishr, Jae posts are full of humor and nail art always unique and bold!

Today I prepared a very simple stamping nail art with watercolor elements. Watercolor nail art is one of my favorite and there are so many different techniques to achieve this effect.

For this watercolor nail art I decided to use jelly polishes for a subtle effect. I started off with a white base and I applied two coats of China Glaze White on White. After the base was dry, I applied a layer of fast drying top coat. This is an important step and it prevents the white base from dissolving too much.

For the watercolor effect I used three jelly polishes, blue (P2 Gloss Neon Skycoaster), purple (China Glaze Are You Jelly?) and pink (China Glaze You Drive Me Coconuts). I dissolved the colors in acetone and applied random spots with a larger nail art brush. I was striving to achieve random spots across my nails. I stamped the feathers using Bundle Monster BM-S308 from the Festival collection (one of my favorite collections from BM!). At the end I finished the nail art with a layer of top coat.

What do you guys think? I am very happy how this watercolor effect came out. It's very subtle and works great as a base for my stamping nail art.

Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below and if you enjoyed this nail art, please check out my blog at Paulina's Passions. You can also find me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest.

Thank you again, Jae, for inviting me to your blog. It's been an absolute pleasure to share my creation with your readers. Enjoy your vacation and come back to us soon

Thank you Paulina, I'm completely in love with this look! I'm always a fan of stamping over another design and this is just perfect. I'm blushing at all your kind words, it's been an absolute pleasure having you here x

Don't forget to check out Paulina's Passions via the links just above!

Guest Post: Quatrefoil Nail Art Tutorial by Pao of Nail Polish Pursuit

Hi lovelies!

Such a great post ahead today, from the gorgeous Pao of Nail Polish Pursuit. I've only gotten to know Pao fairly recently and she's truly one of the most positive people I've met in the nail world. She's going to show you how to do some stunning quatrefoil nail art and I'm already convinced I need to invest on some of these vinyls. Let's take a look!

Hi Procrastinating Polishr fans! I'm delighted to be guest posting for my friend Jae today while she's enjoying her much needed vacation.

My name is Pao and I run a little blog called Nail Polish Pursuit. I love doing swatches of new and past collections and a bit of nail art here and there. Today I'm sharing a design I made especially for today's post that is simple and fun. I have a huge obsession with all things Quatrefoil/Moroccan print so I couldn't help but pick this design for my guest post. Let's take a look at how I created this mani.

Hi lovelies!

Today we are treated to the fabulous nails of the wonderful Kellie, who you'll probably already know as KellieGonzo! Chances are if you've ever googled a polish for swatches you'll have seen it on her perfect nails. She's every bit as lovely as you would expect and I'm so excited to have her here! Let's get into it!

Hi Procrastinating Polishr readers! Big thanks to Jae for asking me to guest post. :D I have recently gotten to know her and we have made fast friends, shared through our love of nail polish and RuPaul's Drag Race! Today for your entertainment, I have two swatches of some well-known Essie polishes from their Winter 2013 Holiday collection, Encrusted Treasures. I know these are still available at a lot of the stores in the US where Essie is sold, hopefully you folks down under are still seeing them around you as well. (note from Jae: Aussie's can find Essie in Priceline and selected pharmacies, or eBay) I hesitated to pick them up for quite a while, but and am really glad I finally purchased them. Let's get onto the swatches yeah??

Guest Post: Distressed Water Marble by Emiline of Nail Polish Society

Hi lovelies!

I have the wonderful Emiline from Nail Polish Society taking over today, and she's done something really unique for you! I know Em through a great group of bloggers I link up with each month for Paint All The Nails challenges, and I'm so glad I discovered her corner of the internet through that group - her nail art and swatches are always on point! Are you excited to see more? I know I am!

Hi everyone! My name is Emiline and I am the woman behind the blog Nail Polish Society. Jae asked if I would like to do a guest post for her while she's off on holiday, and because she's such a doll I said yes! In return she is gifting me a bottle of polish from every country she visits (nudge nude, wink wink). Okay all kidding aside, I am thrilled to be here and I hope you lovely readers enjoy my post!

It took me a while to decide on a manicure to feature, but as soon as I finished this look I knew it was the one! Maybe it's because of my recreation (here) of one of Jae's manis that was also a neon water marble. My take on this one is what I call a "distressed water marble". I've done this look before (here and here), though this time I used a different technique. Instead of spraying alcohol over the water marble to make it break apart, I actually just let it sit and separate on its own. Not all water marbles will do this on their own, but something about these polishes didn't want to stick together. I thought it looked really cool and put it aside for later. Believe it or not, I let it sit for six whole days before I finally got around to using it! I was pretty shocked that the polish was still usable after all that time. It was kismet.

After I painted on my white base color, I cut up the water marble decal into pieces and placed them on each nail. Using small scissors I cut the edges down to fit. Then I really shaped them to the nail using a brush dipped in acetone. I smoothed it all down with a couple coats of glossy top coat. I knew this mani would really rock a matte look too, so the second and third photo are shown with the matte top coat over it.

What I used:
Ginger + Liz Bitch Fit - neon pink
Ginger + Liz Control Freak - neon melon
KBShimmer Eyes White Open - white
Seche Vite top coat
Essie Matte About You top coat

What do you think of the distressed look? I hope you all enjoyed this as much as I did! Thanks Jae for having me! I can't wait to see all the nail polish you bring back from Europe ;)

 xx Emiline xx

Aww yeah! How great was this?! Thank you so much for taking the time to do a flippin' water marble for me, I am super excited to try this distressed look myself one day! I'll see what I can pick up for you on the road ;)

You can follow the Nail Polish Society blog, and follow Emiline on Facebook and Instagram!

Guest Post: Adorable Autumn Nail Art by Melissa aka The Fanciful Fungirl

Hello lovelies!

I'm very excited to have another excellent Aussie blogger here today, Melissa aka The Fanciful Fungirl! Melissa always does the most unique and creative freehand nail art, I'm always in awe of her creativity. Also her ridiculously adorable mushroom watermark is one of my favourite things ever. But enough of me, let's see what Melissa has come up with!

Hi, I’m The Fanciful Fungirl, also known as Melissa, and I’m super excited to be guest posting for the Procrastinating Polishr today. I’ve been a long-time fan of Jae’s blog and I hope my post today is good enough to hold down the fort while she is on her amazing adventure. I’m just a little bit jealous of her but let’s not get into that and get right down into the blogging aspect of this post.

Guest Post: RuPaul's Drag Race Season 8 - Book Ball Nail Art by Very Emily

Hi lovelies!

I'm super mega excited today, because not only do we have an amazing post full of Drag Race nail art, it's done by one of my favourite bloggers (and favourite people in general) out there, the wonderful Emily of Very Emily! We've bonded over many things, including a love of RuPaul's Drag Race, which has led to this phenomenal guest post today! Prepare yourselves, because this is gonna get incredible!

Hi everyone! I'm so honoured to be here on Jae's blog today! I'm Emily aka Very Emily. Jae and I got to know each other recently through our mutual friend Christine from Serenity Nails. We quickly hit it off, especially after sharing our love for RuPaul's Drag Race. Jae, Kellie from Kellie Gonzo and myself are in a group chat on Facebook where we discuss each episode. I look forward to those chats so much every week as Drag Race is my favourite reality show of all time. I get so excited and happy while watching it and it's even more fun that I get to share my excitement with Jae and Kellie! This season has been hands down my favourite so far, I even called it before the season started that this would be the best season of all time and I completely stand by that statement. The skill level has been through the roof this year! YASSSS!

This week's episode was called Book Ball and the remaining five girls were challenged to create not one but three looks for the main challenge. We also saw the return of the puppets "cause everybody loves puppets!".  For my nail looks looks I picked my inspiration from the main challenge. I actually ended up doing three looks inspired by my absolute favourite contestant, Kim Chi. She's been my favourite from before the show even started and I am SO thrilled to see her doing so well. To quote my boyfriend (who on occasion finds himself in the same room as me when I am watching the show and can't help but be entertained) "the other contestants do drag and Kim Chi does art". Not only is she truly an artist, I can totally relate to her love for food, struggles with insecurities, and her humour. She better go home with the crown! This post is basically an homage to Kim Chi so sit back and let's get this book ball rolling!

Guest Post: Geometric Stamping by Deborah of Love Varnish

Hi lovelies!

I'm very excited to have the amazingly talented Deborah from Love Varnish as my very first guest poster here today! Deborah never fails to impress me with her gorgeous stamped looks and her nails are nothing short of perfection. Though she's currently taking a well deserved blog break, she still made some time to create this utterly stunning nail art for you to swoon over. Prepare to be wowed!

I'm on holiday!

Hi lovelies!

Yup, I'm off on the trip of a lifetime! But that doesn't mean things will be quiet here - I've been able to call in some favours from some excellent up and coming Australian bloggers and Instagrammers as well as a boatload of fabulous talent from all around the world! Lucky, huh!

The fun starts tomorrow and you'll see me again in June... assuming I come home!
