Bettie Pain Polish - Science Fiction collection

Hi lovelies!

I have a collection to share today that I am SUPER excited about! When Megan from Bettie Pain Polish contacted me with the offer to swatch her new Science Fiction collection I just about fell outta my chair! I'm a long time stalker admirer of her Instagram @snowglobenails and have been equally enamoured with her polish line.

The newest release is inspired by Megan's favourite sci-fi movies - but you absolutely don't need to be a fan of sci-fi to love this collection, I promise! If you do happen to be a fan, then you'll love how these are packaged - each comes with a quote from each movie attached to the bottle. I love special touches like that!

A stunning black cherry jelly with black micro glitter, silver flakes and a subtle scattered holo. I love the vampy depth, it's so squishy and touchable!

My swatches show this a little darker than it truly is, it's a more vibrant colour than you see here. See Christine from Serenity Nails' swatches for some great outdoor shots. If you don't mind a hint of VNL or have shorter nails it's a gorgeous bright berry in two coats. Great formula with the perfect balance of elements.

Want sparkle for days? You need this! I could not stop taking photos of this shining beauty, it's all kinds of magical. Loaded with all sorts of holo silver glitter and a generous dash of gold hexes this is potentially hazardous when driving in daylight!

I was really impressed with how easy application was, it glides onto the nail with minimal effort. My swatches show 3 thin coats but I can imagine two regular coats would also work for some people. Despite being loaded with glitter it's not too thirsty for top coat - just one coat provided a smooth finish.

This ultra pale grey is a real treat - the small-micro black glitters are sparse enough to let the polish be the hero, but abundant enough to spread evenly across the nail. There's a very subtle holo shimmer which you can see in the bottle but was hard to capture on the nail. It's much more noticeable in sunlight, but I believe Megan is going to add just a little more sparkle so those of us stuck indoors all day can experience the full beauty of this one.

The formula was just sensational, ultra smooth and perfectly opaque in two coats. Swatches are shown with one coat of top coat.

A charcoal jelly with a strong purple shimmer, loaded with spectraflair which really lightens the finish. Holo lovers will love this one - the rainbow really takes over in the sunlight! There are blue hexes floating around which my camera seemed to think were purple, but in person they give a stunning pop of contrast.

I really enjoy the greyed out appearance of this one and the formula was to die for. Two easy smooth coats, with those blue hexes sitting perfectly on the nail. One coat of top coat for a glossy finish.

My absolute favourite of the collection is this soft and subtle camel toned nude with vibrant green shimmer and golden flakes. Totally unique and easily my favourite nude - ever! I'm so enamoured I'd even go as far to say it's one of my top 5 of the year. Elegant, classy and truly beautiful.

The formula does not disappoint - it has a squishy jelly like finish, and builds up easily in three thin coats. Just a lick of top coat for shine and protection is needed.

Another favourite is this amazing royal blue jelly, loaded with colour shifting flakes in predominantly green and blue shades. This aimed right at my weak spot for squishy blues and totally hit the target!

You won't at all be surprised when I say this has a brilliant formula, just the right amount of flakes to make application totally effortless. I did three coats for that gorgeous layered depth and one of top coat. Then, of course, I had to make it matte!

The Science Fiction collection will be available within Australia from Bettie Pain Polish on 12 Dec 2015. Great news for the international fans - Shiro Cosmetics now stock Bettie Pain Polish, so don't be afraid to check in with Shiro about stocking this collection!
