40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Winter

Hi lovelies!

I'm so late in posting this, but I thought I'd put it up anyway - after all, I actually did paint my nails all wintery-like in the sweltering Australian summer heat!

I did a silly, silly thing on Saturday morning - I dropped my laptop. Fully dropped onto hard tile floor from at least two feet. I thought it was dead for a while, but the handyman in me eventually took over and pulled the battery out, unscrewed the base and fiddled with the innards. Post-fiddling, everything seems to be working OK and after backing everything up yesterday I was game enough to run Photoshop and get editing. And here we are!

Winter was a surprisingly hard prompt for me! I figured all the obvious winter things like snowflakes and cozy sweaters and whatnot would already be pretty well covered. Winter is such an uninspiring season here. It gets colder but it definitely doesn't snow. I don't even own a warm coat/jacket. My winter uniform is essentially my same old summer dresses paired with some thick tights, boots and a cardigan/scarf. Winter makes me think of short days and dreary blehness and I definitely didn't want dreary bleh nails.

I ended up going with an icy kind of theme, I was thinking of frozen lakes and icy morning dew. I based the look around Grace-full Nail Polish Queen Arendelle, which I used on my ring and pinky to sandwich in Petal Polish Alyssum. My double accent nails are a gradient of Pretty Serious Presence, Powder Perfect Legend Says..., and Queen Arendelle again, topped with Alyssum.

While I was pretty pleased with the gradient I wasn't so hot on the jelly sandwich, I think I went a bit overboard with the glitter!
