Review: Born Pretty Store Stamping Plate

Hi lovelies!

A little while ago I was sent a package of fun from Born Pretty Store to review - so far I've shown you their great water decals and a strange but brilliant stamping plate. Today we'll get to see how one of the newer style Born Pretty Store plates fare!

I chose plate BP-L016* (product ID#19371) because I love damask and fleur-de-lis style patterns and don't have any plates like this so far.

My first impression was quite positive – it comes packaged in a sturdy cardboard slip, and the plate is attached to a white plastic backing much like a MoYou plate. The plate was in excellent condition with no scratches or obvious flaws in the etching.

I tested the whole plate on paper using Ulta3 Black Satin (which is a cheap black polish I use for all my black stamping) and all the images pick up easily and stamp well.

I've done several looks with this plate, stamping with both black crème and metallic stamping polish over a variety of bases and had great results every time. A couple of patches here and there, but likely more due to overzealous scraping as they aren’t consistent from nail to nail.

My only beef with the plate is the strange combination of images – while I love the patterns and some of the smaller single images, I really don’t like the Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe portraits. It’s a personal preference - I find any kind of stamping of an actual persons face to be kind of creepy.

Despite this I know I’ll get a lot of use out of this plate, and if you haven’t tried them already I absolutely recommend giving the BP-L series plates a try. They are great quality, especially for the price point, and have a growing range of designs. You can find the Born Pretty stamping plates here, which includes their smaller round plates and the new larger plates.

Have you tried any of the new Born Pretty Store stamping plates? How do you think they compare to the bigger brands?
