Does anyone here follow Snowglobe Nails on Instagram? She's one of my favourite local nail artists, and over the last year has also been one of my favourite polish makers with her line Bettie Pain Polish. Obviously I was feeling a certain part of the colour spectrum the day I bought these!
You know a polish is special when it's everything you usually avoid yet you fall in love with it immediately. From the first swatch I saw of this I knew I needed it, and now having finally worn it I can safely say it's going to be a long term favourite.
The blushy nude base doesn't look amazing with my skin tone but I don't even care. There's something soothing about Ava that I adore, the dusty rose speckles and soft golden shimmer give it a touchable quality and the holo gold glitters are a great touch.
I used three coats with Peita's Quick, Gloss Me Up! top coat and it lasted three days with no chips or tip wear before I removed it.
Yep. I'd probably call this Purrfect too. Endlessly squishy deep magenta full of gorgeous flecks of gold, it's jelly heaven! I found this hard to capture accurately, it's a hint pinker in real life giving some almost-neon berry vibes that I love.
The formula is absolutely stunning, it flows onto the nail effortlessly and self levels well. I had total opacity in three coats which delivers the perfect amount of flakes and shows off some amazing depth. Again finished with a coat of Quick, Gloss Me Up!
THE CAT'S MEOW
Finally! Finally someone made the perfect marsala creme! Last year it felt like every polish brand had their own Radiant Orchid (the 2014 Pantone Colour of the Year) polish, but this year it's been near impossible to find a true marsala. I know KB Shimmer did a holo version earlier this year, but... well, you might be aware of my feelings towards holo in general.
The Cat's Meow is a beautiful smooth creme with a glossy finish, though I have also top coated for my photos. I did three thin coats by default but it is really nicely pigmented and two regular coats would likely do just as good a job.
Have you tried Bettie Pain Polish before? If not, you can buy them here - shipping is available internationally - and follow on Facebook and Instagram.
