Swatches & Review - Glittering Elements

Hi lovelies!

This weekend us Aussie's are being treated with a quite a few new releases, and I was lucky enough to receive the new collection from Glittering Elements to show you! It's an eclectic little collection of six polishes all with the trademark Glittering Elements shimmer and sparkle.

COMET DUST

Glittering Elements - Comet Dust

A gorgeous multi chrome flakie topper with an electric aqua shimmer. Primarily you'll see a few shades of purple, with blue and a green tinged gold bend in the flakies and that prominent violet and aqua shimmer. I think there's some scattered holo in there as well!

My favourite way to wear this was over a taupe base (I used OPI French Quarter for Your Thoughts) but it will build up in 4 coats on it's own, and looks incredible over black (see it over at Serenity Nails)

The polish has a clear base loaded with magic, and my swatches show just one coat over undies. Wherever light hits the polish it absolutely comes to life - while the sides of my nail don't look well covered, it's just that the shimmer isn't catching the light there. I love the oomph you get from the shimmer - even if you have similarly coloured multichrome flakies I'd recommend grabbing this.

GIRLY GIRL

A most appropriately named polish, yes? A fuchsia scattered holo with blue micro flakies and a hot pink and gold sparkle. The base is surprisingly dark, and the flakies and shimmer brighten it up to whole new levels. The image above was taken in a lightbox with low exposure to capture the fuchsia flush of the base, below is indirect sunlight which shows you how light completely transforms the colour.

The formula was very nice, I used three coats for my swatches though I could have stopped at two. Application was an absolute breeze, it glides on the nail perfectly.

RUN TO PARADISE

Glittering Elements - Run to Paradise

Teal/dark turquoise whatever you are, I love you! Beauty in a bottle, the dreamiest, softest shade with the sweetest sprinkle of micro flakies and shimmer. If you like teal and turquoise shades this is a home run. I was totally captivated moving my fingers and watching the light catch the flakies sending ripples of blue and pink across my nails.

The formula is gorgeous, needing just two coats for good coverage. I was warned that it is potentially a stainer, so make sure you use a good base coat with this one!

SPACE CANDY RELOADED

Glittering Elements - Space Candy Reloaded

An enticing cool water/early morning sky blue with hints of pink and gold scattered through. The warmth of the gold shimmer really makes this one for me, it's subtle and hard to capture in photos but it stops the shade from tipping into icy metallic territory.

This was slightly sheerer than I expected but easily reached a nice opacity at three coats. The formula was lovely, though I found when I used top coat (above images) it gave a bit of a streaky appearance. My sunlight shot (below) was done later without top coat and I had no evident streaks, so I'm going to put it down to dodgy top coating.

SUN KISSED BEAUTY

Glittering Elements - Sun Kissed Beauty

I'm calling it - this is my favourite blushy nude I've had the pleasure of wearing. Usually I find dusty pinks make me all lobster handed, but this is perfectly balanced with just a hint of pink and a softly scattered holo.

The formula was a lot creamier than I expected, which was great for two coat coverage but meant some more careful application was needed to prevent balding.

VORTEX

Glittering Elements - Vortex

It was nice knowing you all, but I am dead. DEAD. Look at this polish! Now look at it and imagine it is actually infinitely more amazing in real life. Because I swear, it is spectacular. Phenomenal! Extraordinary!

It is a deep purple jelly full up with multichrome flakies. I tell you, you would even swear the jelly itself is duochrome. This ridiculously stunning polish bends magenta, purple, violet, blue, green, gold... it will leave you weak at the knees. I can't even begin to tell you how much you need this polish in your life.

The formula is perfection, just two coats and some top coat and you're good to go. It glides on effortlessly, I promise you will be swooning at the first stroke.
