Swatched: Black Cat Lacquer - Skin of the Night

Heeyyyyyyy polish pals!

I have so many photos sitting unloved and unedited, I'm making an effort to start giving them a little love. Today, a polish one of my most lusted after international indie brands - Black Cat Lacquer.

Skin of the Night

Skin of the Night is from the Saturdays=Dreaming collection, which I plan on eventually acquiring in full. The collection is inspired by M83 - the collection name is a combination of their albums Saturdays=Youth and Hurry Up, We're Dreaming.

I will admit, I had a major sad attack when I first tried applying this. It was so sheer I couldn't get any kind of decent opacity. I tried my usual method of one regular coat and two dabbed and... it was barely even purple. I tried four dabbed coats and there was colour, but the VNL was unacceptable.

Fortunately I had the perfect undies! Spring Break from Ulta3 was meant to be with this polish. It's a slightly darker purple than this looks in the bottle, but it really makes the blue shards pop.

Naturally once I had it looking stunning it just had to be mattified to amp up those glitters a little more. Swoooon! Now to keep collecting until I have the whole set!

See you next time x
