Brushstroke nail art - #52WPNMC

Hi! I'm sneaking in again with a Pick n Mix mani - at least I'm on time this week! I didn't call myself The Procrastinating Polishr for nothing.

It's past my bedtime, so I'll be brief. Prompts this week were favourite brand and brush stroke. I think it took me all week to come up with a favourite brand and even then it comes with qualifiers! I couldn't choose, I could have had a favourite brand on every nail.

Ultimately I went with "favourite drugstore brand", which is Ulta3.

Brush stroke nail art with Ulta3

Ulta3 have really stepped up their game in the last year - some older collections are very hit and miss, but almost every polish I've purchased in the last 12 months has been top notch. The best part is they are only $2, so even if the polish ends up sucking you're only out pocket change.

This mani I've used one newer shade, three oldies and one somewhere in between. I started with a base of Moody Blues which came out earlier this year and is a fantastic dark royal blue. I then did brush strokes of three older metallics - Gold Rush Fever, Silver Grey and Hollywood. All three are horribly sheer but work perfectly for a brush stroke mani. I topped it off with Celebutant, a dusty pink full of silver with a foil type finish.

It's not my favourite mani but it's a fun easy technique that is super versatile.
