Pierre Cardin inspired nail art - #52WPNM

Going back to the 1960's today and getting inspired by one of the greatest fashion designers of all time for the 52 Week Pick n Mix Challenge!

This weeks prompts are 1960's and matte/textured so I immediately thought of 60's fashion - plugging that into Google was great fun, especially when I came across my new favourite designer - Pierre Cardin. He's all about bold colours and geometric shapes - yes please!

I specifically based my look off the Cosmos Collection from 1964 which was a range of woolen tunic style dresses in striking colours with black cutout details. The New York Times has an amazing picture of it here.

I was quite convinced I wouldn't be able to pull off the sectioned ring freehand so I did it on my thumb... and of course did a pretty decent job. The base for the thumb is Kester Black Laguna.

I used Celestial Cosmetics Anti Matter top coat on all nails and detailed with Ulta3 Black Satin. Once I was done I decided I'd do texture as well and topped off the black detail with Sally Hansen Lick-O-Rich.

Colours used L-R here are: Ulta3 Sizzling Red, Love thy Polish Miss Priss, Kester Black Papaya and Sally Hansen White On.

Such an incredibly me mani!
